Senate Vice-President, Nigel De Freitas, said Tobago lost out on a serious tourism investment opportunity with the scrapping of the Sandals Hotel project.
De Freitas said the project would have played a key role when travel in the tourism sector resumes after the COVID-19 pandemic is over.
However, De Freitas said there have been some encouraging signs taking place in the sister isle in the tourism industry.
