Longdenville man critically wounded during altercation with relative

A Longdeville man is warded in critical condition at hospital after he was severely beaten by a male relative during an altercation on Wednesday.

Around 1:30pm on Wednesday, relatives at the home located off Lamont Street heard a commotion and found the 55-year-old man lying on the ground, covered with a cloth.

He had multiple wounds to his body.

A male relative told police that he was just ‘defending himself’ before making his way to a bedroom.

The injured man was conveyed to the Chaguanas Health Facility where he was stabilized before being transferred to the Mt Hope Hospital.

The suspect was detained and is said to be aiding with enquiries.
