Citizens locked out abroad may be in receipt of some sort of financial assistance from government.
This was mentioned on Monday by Finance Minister Colm Imbert, during his press conference on relief grants to citizens for COVID19.
Imbert briefly stated that he will give consideration to establishing a grant to citizens locked out abroad.
However, he said he could not give any guarantee that this will come to fruition.
Imbert’s announcements yesterday included a grant of $1,500 to be made available to those who lost their jobs at the start of the month, while an additional $1,000 will be made available for those who have lost their jobs over the last few days, given the rollback of restrictions announced by Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley.
The grants are expected to cover some 20,000 workers.
