A police officer with seven years service has been hospitalized in serious condition after an unknown liquid was thrown into his eyes. PC Ernie Bernard suffered grade four injuries when one of two women involved in a fight went to a vehicle and got a jar with the liquid which was thrown at the officers. The officer has earlier intervened into a fight between the women at a bar at Madras Road Cunipia. The officer was off duty at the time of the incident. The woman fled in the vehicle. Investigation are continuing.
