Lifeline Does Not Have An Audit Problem, Assures Chairman Gabriel

Telephone counselling service, Lifeline, is making it clear the organization does not have an audit problem.

Lifeline offers emotional support to those enduring personal crises and in imminent danger of taking their own lives.

Chairman of Lifeline, Dr Lucretia Gabriel, gave the update last Friday at the eleventh meeting of the Joint Select Committee on Social Services and Public Administration.

The Committee inquired into the mental and psychosocial services available to the population during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Dr Gabriel stated that someone helped the group with its audit requirements for free to cover the period 2014 to 2017.

However, Dr Gabriel admitted the organization did not have the 5,000 thousand dollars to pay someone to have the accounts audited in the past.

Dr Gabriel assured all will be done to ensure the organization’s audit is up to date.
