LeBron James is officially the NBA’s all-time leading scorer

LeBron James is officially the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, the Lakers superstar passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most points logged in league history.

James accomplished the feat against the Oklahoma City Thunder, in front of a Crypto.com Arena crowd that featured a slew of celebs and former athletes — including Abdul-Jabbar himself.

The Lakers star became the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, surpassing Basketball Hall of Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s 38,387 career points, on Tuesday against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar held the record since April 5, 1984, when he passed another legend in Wilt Chamberlain; his 35th and 36th of the game, came on a fadeaway mid-range jumper with 10.9 second left in the third quarter.

At an impromptu mid-game ceremony to honor the newly minted record holder, a teary-eyed and stunned James thanked his family, friends and Abdul Jabbar before concluding with  “Fuck, man. Thank you guys.”
