Leader of Government Business says the Market Box venture is expected to cost taxpayers $20M

Leader of Government Business in the House of Representatives, Camille Robinson-Regis, says the Market Box venture which will be given to parents of students who benefit from the School feeding programme, will cost tax payers $20M dollars.

In the parliament this afternoon, Minister Robinson-Regis speaking on behalf of Minister of Social Development and Family Services, Donna Cox, provided the information during her response to the Opposition Member of Parliament for Tabaquite.

The Opposition wanted to know, given the extension of the COVID-19 restrictions, whether food cards issued to the parents with children in the School Nutrition Programme will be topped-up and if so, what will be the value?
