Laventille man held for house breaking, stealing in Tunapuna

A Laventille man is currently assisting Tunapuna detectives with investigations into two reports of house breaking and larceny which occurred in the area earlier this weekend.

The 54-year-old suspect, of Parsley Street, Laventille, was arrested yesterday by Tunapuna Criminal Investigations Department (CID) detectives following preliminary enquiries into two reports of house breaking and larceny which occurred on April 9th and 10th.

In the first incident, at 4.45 am on Friday 9th April, 2021, a woman locked and secured her Ward Street, Tunapuna home and returned at 7.25 am the following day when she discovered her home broken into.

Further checks were made and it was discovered that one chop saw, a circular saw, a Fibre glass fish and 3x coils of electrical tape were missing. The woman gave no one permission to remove the items.

In the second incident, at 4.45 am on Saturday 10th April, 2021, another woman woke up and went to her clothesline located outside her Eastern Main Road, Tunapuna home and found that her white coloured Frigidaire washing machine was missing. No one was given permission to remove the item.

Investigations, led by WPC Pelage of the Tunapuna CID, resulted in the arrest of the suspect.
