Laventille man arrested for gun and ammunition

A 32-year-old man was arrested for possession of a firearm and
ammunition, during an anti-crime exercise in the Laventille area
yesterday.

Officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force were proceeding along
Rudolph Charles Link Road Laventille, on Monday 11th November
2019, when they had cause to stop and search the suspect.

The search was conducted and one black and silver pistol fitted with a magazine containing seven (7) rounds of 9mm ammunition was found tucked in the left side of the suspect’s pants waist.

The man was arrested and taken to the Besson Street Police Station to await charges.

Investigations are ongoing.
