KES LIVE special to air on Independence Day; new album drops August 28

Kes the Band has partnered with CCN TV6 for a one-hour TV special called KES LIVE, to air on Independence Day, August 31.

The live event will air across nine Caribbean countries and will also be simulcast in Africa on Trace TV; on Kes’ YouTube channel at and across the band’s social media channels.

Lead vocalist, Kees Dieffenthaller, said “The live show is key to our entire brand.”
“But the live experience is something we never truly captured before [on record]. When we play live, the music translates in such a boundless way — you don’t have to know what soca is, or where we’re from, so… We wanted to explore our strengths and remember ourselves as a band.”

The live event will follow the launch on August 28 of the band’s first new full-length album in over five years.

The album titled We Home, will be released under Ineffable Records.

Mixed by renowned Grammy award-winning Trinidadian engineer, Dexter Simmons (Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston), We Home is the first major soca release since the outbreak began and it’s a time-capsule of their sound and genre in 2020, whilst simultaneously reconnecting with their roots as eclectic Caribbean performers.

Singles from the project will be released weekly leading up to the release of We Home, starting with a new version of “Magic” featuring Jimmy October and Etienne Charles, which premieres today, Friday, August 7.
