Opposition Leader Kamla Persad Bissessar made another call on Monday night for the Government to bring pepper spray legislation to give women a chance at defending themselves.
Speaking at the UNC Virtual Report, she committed her party to supporting the necessary legislation to allow women a chance at defending themselves with nonlethal weapons.
She chastised the Government for bringing their “PR” gimmick legislation of Anti Gang Bill when they should have brought pepper spray legislation instead.
She said anytime the Governments’ back is against the wall, they take out the PR gimmick that is the Anti-Gang Law to say they are doing something about crime when it has done nothing.
