Opposition Leader Kamla Persad Bissessar has expressed concern with some of the measures detailed in the new COVID-19 Guidelines for Polling Day released by the Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) on Wednesday.
Speaking at a virtual UNC meeting on Thursday evening, she stated this could be used as a ploy against UNC voters.
She questioned whether or not doctors would be posted at every polling station on August 10 to monitor whether electors are exhibiting symptoms of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
The UNC Leader informed her supporters that the EBC cannot legally disenfranchise anyone for not having a mask.
