Kamala Harris said she would not take a COVID-19 vaccine if Donald Trump approved it

Senator Kamala Harris said she will be the first to take a coronavirus vaccine — as long as President Trump isn’t the one telling her to.

During the Vice Presidential debate on CNN, the Democratic challenger to Vice President Mike Pence was asked on Wednesday night whether she would get a COVID-19 vaccine, if the Trump administration approved one.

“If the public health professionals, if Dr. [Anthony] Fauci if the doctors tell us that we should take it, then I’ll be first in line to take it,” Harris said.

“But if Donald Trump tells us that we should take it — then I’m not taking it.”

Harris said the Trump administration handled the Coronavirus pandemic so poorly that she would not risk her own life or that of American citizens with advice from Donald Trump.

Harris, who got the first question, opened by saying that “The American people have witnessed what is the greatest failure of any presidential administration in the history of our country.”
