Cabinet agrees to the setting up of a commission of inquiry to examine and inquire into all of the circumstances which led to the tragic incidents which took place on February 25th this year at facilities owned by Paria Fuel Trading Company and led to the deaths of four divers of LMCS Limited.
This disclosure comes from Minister of Energy and Energy Industries, Stuart Young.
Minister Young made the remarks while speaking at the weekly post cabinet news briefing Thursday afternoon.
Minister Young said the three man panel and will be chaired by regional legal luminary, Justice C Dennis Morrison, Queen’s Counsel.
Justice Morrison will be assisted by another commissioner, Gregory Wilson.
The third member will be a representative from a specialist international investigative firm with experience in conducting investigations into accidents and incidents in large industrial settings especially in oil and gas.
Minister Young also outlined details relating to the scope of work which the commission of inquiry will carry out.
