Jamaican denied bail for sexually penetrating girl, 14

A 28-year-old Jamaican was remanded into custody when he appeared before a Chaguanas Magistrate today charged with sexual penetration of a child.

He is scheduled to reappear before the court on February 12th.

The accused, who resides in Carapichaima, was charged on January 14th by PC Ramkissoon, of the Central Division Child Protection Unit (CPU), and was denied bail by Magistrate Adrian Darmanie.

The charge stem from a report made to CPU detectives on January 11th that a 14-year-old girl, while at the home of the accused, was allegedly made to have sexual intercourse with him.

The girl later confided in her older sibling who then reported that incident to police.

The suspect was subsequently arrested and charged.
