With the position of Police Commissioner still open, Deputy Police Commissioner McDonald Jacob said he may give consideration to applying for the position.
During an interview on Brighter Morning with Bhoe Tewarie on Friday, Jacob revealed that he had never applied for the position before.
But, when asked if he will apply, Jacob said, “I will always give it consideration.”
However, in a separate interview with GML, Jacob said, “Giving consideration” does not equate to a “yes” or “no”.
Jacob was appointed to act as Police Commissioner until High Court Judge Nadia Kangaloo invalidated the acting appointment of both him and Griffith on October 14, 2021.
Jacob said his goal is to continue working with the officers of the Police Service to ensure that the crime rate is reduced.
