Jack Warner praised for Qatar World Cup 2022

Former Vice President of FIFA, Jack Warner is being hailed a hero for Qatar World Cup 2022 by social media users, former politicians and others.

The final match between Argentina and France victory on Sunday united the world but also made Warner’s name ring out over socila media.

Qatar’s World Cup bid in the last four years, while controversial ended on a very high note where Argentina beat France in the finals, 4-2 on penalties, after a 3-3 tie after extra time.

In an interview with Newsday this everning, Warner said, “the same voices in the international media that criticised the choice for Qatar, complaining it was a small nation of two million people, located in the Middle East, and lacking a long history of football.”

In 2010, Fifa’s executive committee voted 14-8 for Qatar to host the 2022 World Cup – ahead of bids by the US, South Korea, Japan and Australia.
