Jack Warner: Gary Griffith is the best COP since Randolph Burroughs

Former Minister of National Security Jack Warner said “Gary Griffith is the best thing since sliced bread” as Commissioner of Police. Mr. Warner sat down for an exclusive interview with IzzSo media at his Kantac Plaza office in Arouca. Mr. Warner said that Griffith had shown his talent as a member of the People’s Partnership government as an advisor to Warner when he was Minister of National Security, and then Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissessar. He said the Commissioner has shown leadership by being on the frontlines with his men. He said the biggest challenge the CoP faces is cleaning out the corrupt officers in the service of which there are many.

Mr. Warner praised the CoP for his leadership attributes , fearlessness and ability to show independence and fairness. He said the biggest challenge Griffith faced was ‘cleaning out the stables’ in reference to corrupt officers, which were many and undermining the work of the service. He also said the establishment of coastal police outposts and the marine division of the TTPS was vital, but that officers must be rotated. He also advised Griffith of the importance of regularly visiting the schools , especially the sixth for students whose Warner said were vulnerable to the criminal element.
