2020 Power Soca Monarch winner Neil “Iwer” George believes that the cancellation of the International Soca Monarch competition would give way to something better.
He said there were several good events that played an integral part in Carnival that are no more, like Insomnia, Brass Fest and Kitchener Tent and this was just another example of a Carnival event dying.
However, the soca star and businessman said: “This is an opportunity for a new beginning. An opportunity to rebrand.”
He said it is sad news but he is not worried about the continuation of the competition. “It’s going to be something else just now.””
