International Labour Organization concerned about the impact COVID-19 has on employment

The International Labour Organization says the Coronavirus outbreak is having a “deep, far-reaching and unprecedented” impact on employment, with more than one billion workers at high risk of a pay cut or losing their job.

The Geneva-based body says lock downs are affecting almost two point seven billion workers.

It explains that of that amount one point two five billion are extremely vulnerable, mainly in hotels, food services, manufacturing and retail.
