Intensified Efforts Needed To Return T&T To Appealing Investment Capital, Says Opp. MP

Efforts must be intensified to make Trinidad and Tobago return to the appealing investment capital it once was.

The appeal for this to be achieved is coming from Member of Parliament for Mayaro, Rushton Paray.

MP Paray expressed concern over what he said was Trinidad and Tobago becoming one of the lowest-rated countries in the World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business metrics.

MP Paray claims it takes two hundred and fifty-four days to get construction permits, electricity connections being obtained after sixty-one days, and three and a half years to enforce contracts.

He added that it takes two and a half years to resolve insolvencies, seventy-seven days to register a property, and sixty-five days to obtain credit.
