For the first time in several years, Instagram debuts a major redesign of its main screen. With this transformation, the red social seeks to meet the new needs of young people and content creators.
Through the latest update, the application It is giving more prominence to two functions that are in full swing: Reels and the store. Now, both will be located in the lower menu of Instagram, between the Explore and Profile buttons.
The new tools replace the position where the Create and Notifications tabs used to be, which have been repositioned to the upper right corner of the interface, next to the direct message inbox.
“This year, with the pandemic and much of the world sheltering in its place, we have seen an explosion of short and entertaining videos on Instagram. We’ve also seen an incredible amount of shopping online, ”said Adam Mosseri, Director of Instagram.
“We do not take these changes lightly. (…) The way people create and enjoy culture has changed, and the biggest risk for Instagram is not that we change too fast, but that we do not change and become irrelevant, “added the executive.
