India won the first one day international against West Indies by three runs at the Queens Park Oval in Port of Spain today.
Despite 75 runs from Kyle Mayers and 54 runs from Brandon King, the regional side set 309 to win, reached 305 for 6 from 50 overs.
Earlier West Indies won the toss and decided to put the visitors in to bat.
India captain, Shikhar Dhawan top scored with 97 runs, Shubman Gill 64 and Shreyas Iyer 54 as India reached 308 for 7.
The second one day international will be played at the same venue on Sunday from 9:30am.
