Independent Senators accused of attacking Opposition Bench

The Leader of Opposition Business in the Senate is raising what could be considered an oversight in the Constitution regarding Independent Senators.

Speaking at yesterday’s media briefing, Senator Wade Mark noted that the term “Independent Senator” which is used to describe the nine Senators who are appointed by the President, does not exist in the constitution.

Senator Mark also accused the Independent Bench of being partisan and attacking the Opposition  Bench.
