Imbert: Hospital upgrades gets a boost

The Public Sector will get a boost in 2023 as the Government is promising various upgrades.

Finance Minister Colm Imbert made the statement during the 2nd sitting of Cabinet this morning.

He said that there would be upgrades in the Health sector, noting that several of Trinidad’s Public Health Institutions would be targeted for improvements.

Referring to the Public Sector Investment Program (PSIP), Imbert said that 39% of the 2023 PSIP would be going to infrastructure development.

Following closely he said would be 31% being spent on people, 12% on building a globally competitive business and 17% on delivering good Governance.

He said that there would be a focus on completion of upgrade Works at hospitals.

He also said work on the San Fernando General Hospital and New Ministry of Health Administration Building is due for completion in 2023.
