Illegal gun trade fueling crime … Heerah

Once there is a market for the illegal trade to continue, criminals will carry out their practice and the aim should be to stop them in order to make progress in the fight against crime.

This response was given to a question posed on the Power Breakfast Programme on Power 102 Digital today.

It was in reference to the importation of illegal guns and the recent robbery of a security vehicle which came under fire from bandits in La Romaine.

This is the assessment coming from former head of the national operations centre, Garvin Heerah.

The security expert said the population is asking for action in the fight against crime and this is necessary to suppress their work.
