Nation of Islam Eastern Caribbean representative David Muhammad is also calling for the return of the Trinbagonians who are being held in refugee camps in Syria.
The social activist made the call while speaking with News Power Now this morning.
He suggested that the Government was not taking the issue seriously until foreign interests made their voices heard on the matter.
News Power Now asked Muhammad if he believed that the Islamophobia spoken about by the Opposition leader was at the heart of the decision to ignore the plight of these stranded Trinis.
He claimed that this is not the case and put it down instead to a simple case of ignorance.
