Principal Medical Officer – Institutions Dr Maryam Abdool-Richards says hospitals are filled and hospital admissions need to decrease to avoid a potential disaster.
She made the comment while speaking at the Ministry of Health’s Covid Update this morning.
She said that there continues to be an upward trend in the number of hospitalisations at all hospitals and admissions have surpassed discharges and this is cause for concern.
She stated that hospitals are filled and this means persons who have emergencies that are not Covid related could be adversely affected.
She disclosed that Tobago has not been spared in this regard and once again implored that the population follow the Covid guidelines to prevent a disaster.
