Chief Medical Officer, Dr Roshan Parasram, says home isolation is cited as the preferred method of quarantine for monkeypox.
However, when a case is detected at a port of entry, quarantine will be done at a state facilities to prevent spread of the virus.
Dr Parasram provided the information while speaking at the weekly Covid-19 news briefing on Wednesday.
