Hinds: TT managing its vaccine supply to ensure enough for second doses

Following a BBC report on Tuesday which quoted the World Health Organisation as saying that a large number of “poorer countries” do not have enough doses to continue their programmes, Epidemiologist Dr Avery Hinds says T&T is managing its supply of vaccines to ensure second doses are available when needed.

T&T was listed in the report alongside countries such as Zimbabwe and Bangladesh, as among those that will soon be running out of vaccines.

However, Dr Hinds, speaking at the Health Ministry’s media briefing yesterday, questioned the criteria used to make that determination, adding that doses are being carefully managed.
