There has been a decrease in new Covid-19 cases being reported weekly, and the decrease from week to week has been getting smaller and smaller.
So said Epidemiologist Dr Avery Hinds at yesterday’s media briefing at the Diplomatic Center.
He said: “The initial downward trend that we have been seeing since about August 25 has continued. “We have been seeing week-on-week decreases in the total number of new cases being diagnosed on a weekly basis, but what we have noted is that those decreases are slowing a little.
“So while we had a 35 per cent decrease in the first week of downward trend, the next week was 22 per cent, and this last week has been 12 per cent. So we are seeing while we are still going downwards, that decrease is slowing. We are having what you would call a plateau.”
He said the country is hovering in the region of about 50 new cases daily.
