High praise for healthcare workers in the ERHA

Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh has given high praise to the doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers within the Eastern Region, particularly those at the Toco Health Centre and the Cumana and Matura Outreach Centres.

On Friday, the minister presented them with a Letter of Commendation and tokens of appreciation, in recognition of their quality service to their communities.

According to a release from the Eastern Regional Health Authority (ERHA), Minister Deyalsingh said he saw it as his duty to visit the team, after a member of the public highly commended Toco Health Centre staff “for the attention care and medication provided to attend to a very serious medical situation during a holiday weekend.”

“You all are the heroes and deserve all the acknowledgement and praise,” the minister told the healthcare workers, as he presented them with the framed Letter of Commendation.

He urged them to publicly display the letter to serve as further motivation for staff “to continue being the wonderful human beings they are”.

The health minister also credited ERHA Chief Executive Officer Ronald Tsoi-a-Fatt, as well as the County Medical Officer of Health, managers and staff for doing a wonderful job of nurturing their staff as community leaders.

The ERHA CEO thanked Minister Deyalsingh for recognising the good work of the ERHA staff, noting that they uphold and demonstrate the Authority’s guiding principle, “Caring is the Key”.

Also present at the ceremony were several senior ERHA officials, as well as Member of Parliament for Toco/Sangre Grande, Roger Monroe MP, who also commended the health workers for their dedication to duty, and former Chairman of the Sangre Grande Regional Corporation, Terry Rondon, who recounted his own positive experiences with healthcare workers in the ERHA.
