Heritage Petroleum Issues Update On Operations In Response To Vessigny Incident

Incident response operations in the Vessigny area continue to be carried out by Heritage Petroleum Company Limited. The source of the leak has been identified and clamped.

In a media release today, Heritage said it is maintaining contact with impacted residents and other stakeholders with a view to keeping them informed and to receive feedback on any incident related concerns.

Heritage also moved to retract its previous statement relating to Trinity Brighton Operations, saying Trinity Brighton Operations was, in fact, not engaged in pumping activities at the time of the leak and was therefore not directed nor required to suspend pumping operations. Heritage has apologised for any inconvenience caused by this misstatement.

It went on to say that air quality tests in the affected area continue to read within normal levels and the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries, the Environmental Management Authority (EMA) and other relevant regulatory bodies are being updated, as required.

Heritage is estimating completion of its clean-up activities in three days.
