Minister of Health Terrence Deyalsingh is hailing the efforts of Port Staff at Piarco International Airport in intercepting a passenger who arrived in this country after being allowed to board a flight in the US State of New York despite having a positive covid19 PCR test.
It was later discovered that that person is Trinidad and Tobago’s first confirmed case of the Omicron Variant.
In the Parliament today, Minister Deyalsingh, responding to a question from the Member of Parliament for Caroni East – on the circumstances surrounding this incident – pointed out that the final check and balance, according to entry protocols, is at the Piarco Airport that was able to identify the information previously over looked.
