HDC reviews pricing policy as almost 200 thousand applicants wait

Amid continued interest in public housing, the Housing Development Corporation has announced plans to initiate a review of its pricing policy.

HDC is also seeking ways to bring down the cost of construction and it is in discussion with its internal construction department and contractors to reduce the level of furnishings, provided a very basic home and allow people to outfit the unit in the manner that they wish.

Chairman of the HDC, Noel Garcia, made the disclosure during a meeting of the Public Accounts and Enterprises Committee this week.

The number of persons who have applied for houses from the Housing Development Corporation as of October 12th this year is 195, 804.
