Have you heard the term “Chi Chi” as money?

Citizens from both Trinidad and Tobago have their own way of coining words- there’s a local term for basically anything in our twin island Republic; as we use slang daily.

But Member of Parliament for Oropouche West, Davendranath Tancoo shocked the listening and viewing public and other members in the Parliament when he used the term “chi chi” to represent a little bit of money.

This as he explained was what the government is giving to citizens.

There was a Soca track created by Wanskie tilted “More Gyal” which spoke about the term “chi chi.”

There is also dancehall song which speaks about “chi chi” is actually a track sang by Elephant Man titled “Ward 21.”
