Guyana Amazon Warriors beat Jamaica Tallawahs by 14 runs by defending a paltry total of 118 in the Caribbean Premier League 2020 at the Brian Lara Stadium on Saturday evening.
After Jamaica won the toss and chose to field first, Guyana got off to a brilliant start through Brandon King (29) and Chandrapaul Hemraj (21), scoring 55/0 after 5 overs.
Jamaica soon turned things around through the likes of Mujeeb ur Rahman (3/18) and Carlos Brathwaite (3/14) and bundled their opposition for 118.
In their chase, Jamaica faltered from the very first ball itself as Guyana reduced them to 4/3 inside four overs. Despite a late Andre Russell (52*) show, Jamaica couldn’t make it over the line as they were restricted to 104/7 in a CPL classic.
