Guns and ammunition found in Blanchisseuse

An SBBL 12-gauge shotgun and one chrome and black Smith and Wesson revolver loaded with five rounds of .38spl ammunition were found in Blanchisseuse yesterday.

During an anti-crime exercise in the area, based on information received, a party of officers proceeded to O’Connor Street, Upper Village, Blanchisseuse.

They conducted a comprehensive search of a mountainous, forested area and found both guns hidden in the bushes.

The exercise which was conducted between the hours of 5 pm and 7:30 pm was spearheaded by Ag ACP Belfon, Ag Snr Supt Maharaj, Supt Alexander, Ag Supt Ramjohn, and Ag ASP Beharry.

It was coordinated by Insp Bharath, supervised by Sgt Ali and Ag Cpl Babwah and included officers from the Blanchisseuse Police Station, members of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) and Trinidad and Tobago Regiment personnel.

Investigations are continuing.
