Gunmen ambush and kill a Santa Cruz man near his home

Police are investigating an ambush in Santa Cruz on Friday night, that resulted in the death of a 26-year-old man, identified as Brent “Tommy” Carrington.

Shortly after 8pm last night, Carrington, of Sam Boucaud Road, Santa Cruz, was driving his gold Nissan Almera along Saddle Road in the vicinity of Bridge Peace Road, when an unknown vehicle pulled alongside and the occupants opened fire on him.

Carrington reportedly lost control of his car which ran off the road and stalled on the pavement.

He was found seated behind the steering wheel suffering from gunshot wounds about the body.

Carrington was taken by first responders to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mt Hope – where he was pronounced dead at 8.30 pm.

Seven 9 mm spent shell casings at the scene.
