Ground Work On Dragon Gas Field Taking Place

The public is told work is being done to explore, produce and export natural gas from the Dragon gas Field to Trinidad and Tobago from Venezuela continues.

Minister of Energy and Energy Industries, Stuart Young, said the April 2024 reports on the sanctions imposed by America on the oil and gas sector in Venezuela does not affect the specific amended license granted on October 17th last year to Trinidad and Tobago.

It is valid until October 31st 2025 and will permit Shell, NGC and contractors to continue works being undertaken to explore, produce and export natural gas from Venezuela to this country.

Minister Young admitted while geo-politics can affect this country and other areas of the world the necessary ground work is taking place such as engineering and design activities and survey ship will be going to the Dragon Gas Field

He said this country is expecting to earn billions of dollars in revenue from this project.
