A 73-year-old woman was among six people arrested during warrant exercises in the Northern and North Central Divisions.
Based on the recent upsurge in shootings, a team of officers from La Horquetta Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Malabar CID, Maloney CID, Northern Division Task Force North and South and the Canine Units, executed search warrants at the homes of several priority offenders on Thursday.
Four men, aged 17 to 23, and a 73-year-old grandmother were arrested in connection with multiple robbery and shooting incidents.
This exercise was spearheaded by Snr Supt Montrichard, coordinated by Supt Guelmo, ASP Pitt, and supervised by Insp Mascall and Insp Harewood.
Meanwhile, the North Central Division, a warrant exercise was conducted between 4pm and 7pm on Wednesday.
During the exercise, a team consisting of members of the North Central Task Force-East and the Canine Unit executed search warrants targeting priority offenders.
While at a Ballantyne Road, Five Rivers, residence, police searched and found a transparent plastic packet containing various colourful pills, which appeared to be the dangerous drug Methylenedioxymethamphetamine, more commonly known as ecstasy.
The items were seized and the man was arrested.
This exercise was initiated by ACP Subero, spearheaded by Snr Supt Smith, Supt Gift and coordinated by ASP David and Insp Greene.
