GPS bracelets being considered to ensure returning citizens do not violate home quarantine

Attorney General Faris Al Rawi says the Government is actively considering using GPS bracelets to ensure returning citizens do not violate their home quarantine.

Speaking on the TTT radio network this morning, he explained that the Ministry of Health’s resources are already spread thinly.

He added that the Government is doing what it can to ensure the best use of state resources.

Mr Al Rawi explained that the bracelets are not compulsory, he said instead it will be proffered as an option to allow persons to sidestep state quarantine.

The Attorney General added that he has already discussed the issue with other AG’s in the region following its rollout in several other countries.
