Gov’t respects European Medicines Agency decision on Covid passports

The government says it respects the recent decision of the European Medicines Agency to exclude from its “Covid passport” the type of vaccines administered in Trinidad and Tobago.

Minister of Health, Terrence Deyalsingh, made the position clear during the parliament this afternoon.

Minister Deyalsingh was asked by the Opposition Member of Parliament for Couva South to indicate what steps are being taken to
ensure persons vaccinated with the Astra Zeneca or Sinopharm vaccines can travel to the European Union unhindered.

The Health Minister said the government is in support of using COVID-19 vaccines that is approved by the World Health Organization and its respects the decision of any country or agency to make decisions as they see fit.
