Gov’t secures $200M loan for the TTPS to pay for outstanding goods and services

Government secures two hundred million dollars in loan financing to meet outstanding payments for goods and services procured by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service in 2020 and 2021.

This is in addition to a total revised allocation of three hundred and eighty two million, five hundred and thirty –nine thousand, eight
hundred and forty –five dollars for this line item.

Minister of Finance, Colm Imbert, gave this response as he informed the Senate Tuesday of the action taken to address the reported debt of one hundred and eighty –five million dollars the TTPS has amassed.

Minister Imbert said he was been informed by the TTPS the funding allocated by the ruling administration will help the service cover its various expenses.
