Gov’t Has No Intentions Of Covering Up Child Abuse, Assures Minister Webster-Roy

Government is assuring the population it does not intend to cover up instances of child abuse.

The undertaking comes from Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, Ayanna Webster Roy.

Minister Webster Roy made the remarks during her response to a private motion brought by Opposition Member of Parliament for Princes Town, Barry Padarath, in the House of Representatives Friday afternoon.

MP Padarath’s private motion related to the protection and support of the nation’s children.

Minister Webster Roy said the government will not act on emotions but the facts pertaining to incidents of harm and injustice against children.

Minister Webster Roy revealed how the government dealt with information it got between 2020 and 2021 pertaining to incidents against children.
