Gov’t defends move to liberalize the fuel market

Government is defending its move to liberalize the fuel market in Trinidad and Tobago.

Minister of Energy and Energy Industries, Stuart Young, urges the population not to view the venture as a taxation exercise.

Speaking during debate on the Finance Bill 2021 in the parliament this afternoon, Minister Young provided details some of the areas which will be introduced under the revised fuel system.

Minister Young said the new arrangement will help ensure fairness and transparency.
