Government has signed an Air Transport Agreement with the United Arab Emirates.
Works Minister Rohan Sinanan, alongside the Director General of the General Civil Aviation Authority of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), His Excellency Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, initiated the Air Transport Agreement between Trinidad and Tobago and the UAE.
The agreement was signed on Thursday.
Once in force, this agreement will facilitate direct air links between Trinidad and Tobago and the UAE, promoting greater connectivity and increased accessibility.
This presents the opportunity for more efficient and convenient travel for passengers and cargo and strengthening of the economic, cultural, and diplomatic ties between the States.
This landmark agreement for Trinidad and Tobago will be the first Agreement to be entered into with a Middle Eastern State, and has the potential for increased tourism from the UAE and other regions connected to it, as well as, facilitating access for travellers from Trinidad and Tobago to significant hubs in the UAE, such as Dubai International Airport and Abu Dhabi International Airport.
