Government Urges Labour Movement To Return To National Tripartite Advisory Committee

Government is urging the labour movement to return to the National Tripartite Advisory Committee.

NTAC, which provides technical advice to the Ministry of Planning and Development, was formed by members of the government, the private sector and trade unions.

Labour leaders have dropped out of the arrangement in the past claiming their input has not always been given the attention it deserves.

Prime Minister, Dr Keith Rowley, speaking at a news briefing on Monday, appealed to labour leaders to reconsider their position and return to NTAC adding there are benefits to be derived for Trinidad and Tobago.

Dr Rowley also cited the importance of having a properly functioning NTAC and the intervention it can have even in matters relating to benefits for public servants.
