Government to assist current NP operators to purchase gas stations

Finance Minister, Colm Imbert, says assistance will be provided by the State for National Petroleum (NP) operators who are not able to afford to buy NP gas stations as part of the liberalisation of the local fuel retail industry.

Imbert made the revelation on Tuesday at the Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers Association (TTMA) virtual post-budget panel discussion.

Speaking with reporters after the official opening of the Diego Martin Health Center, Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley, assured the move will be a transparent one.
