Government Says Action Was Taken When Concerns On The SSA Was Brought To Its Attention

The parliament is told by the Minister of National Security, Fitzgerald Hinds, the National Security Council acted in the public’s interests when information was brought to its attention relating to matters of the Strategic Services Agency and its operations.

It was revealed on Wednesday; the SSA carried out the procurement of military weapons before the matter was officially approved by Cabinet and bought around 70,000 rounds of ammunition which are still unaccounted for.

It was also revealed the SSA was compromised with the establishment of a militarised operational unit and was infiltrated by a religious “cult” that wanted to replace the “country’s political leadership”.

During the question and answer period on Thursday, Minister of National Security, Fitzgerald Hinds, says when concerns about certain aspects of the SSA were brought to its attention appropriate action was taken.

Minister Hinds was questioned on what steps were taken to prevent a possible recurrence to which it was indicated a full audit is being done into the development.
